Nude

Nude

This is a digital photo processed in Photoshop. The colors were selectively desaturated to render the image almost monotone, next contrast and exposure were adjusted then a warming filter was used to warm up the photograph. The image was severely cropped.

Two lights were used, one on either side of the model to create a feeling of solidity.

Alma's only Bar

Alma’s only Bar

This is a digital photo processed in Photoshop. The photo was rendered to Black & White by selectively desaturating selected colors. Contrast and exposure were adjusted and some touch up was done. The image was then imported into Lightroom where the gradient tool was used to decrease exposure of the sidewalk. The picture was then cropped and the picture rotated slightly to make the verticals vertical.

I like this picture mainly because I’ll like to live in Alma. It’s located in a valley surrounded by four fourteeners and some beautiful wilderness.

This is a digital photo, processed in Lightroom. It was rendered in Black & White by selectively desaturating various colors and reducing vibrance. The picture was cropped slightly.

Two lights were used one to the models front and one behind her. Barn doors were used to narrow the light beam and concentrate the light toward the middle of the torso. This gave a three dementionality to the image.

Tin Wall...Blackhawk

Tin Wall…Blackhawk

This picture was shot on Ecktachrome G100E slide film. It was then scanned into Photoshop where saturation was increased and contrast was adjusted.

While driving through Blackhawk I notices a building that was complete clad in sheet metal scraps. It appeared that the sheet metal was originally painted red but as time past the paint was wearing off and a little corrosion was present. I just had to stop an take some pictures. You can never tell when there will be something you just have to shoot.

Tattooed Arm

Tattooed Arm

This is a digital photo processed in Lightroom. The image was rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom preset. Exposure and contrast were manipulated to make the model’s tattoo stand out.

This was a one light setup. The light was high and toward the left side of the picture. The light was adjusted so the model’s tattoo stood out. Sometimes it’s preferable and easier to make a tattoo a design element rather than trying to hide it.

Standing Nude

Standing Nude

This is a digital photo processed in Lightroom. The image was rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom preset. Exposure and contrast were adjusted so the model’s face and torso would remain as a silhouette.

This is a single light setup. the light was on the left side of the picture (look at the shadow). Barn-doors were used on the light in order to keep the light on the lower half of the model.

Monument Valley

Monument Valley

This is a digital photo. Processed in Lightroom. It was rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom preset then local contrast and exposure adjustments were made as well as some cropping.

Monument Valley is really breath taking. I try to go back every few years, the valley remains pretty much the samne but my vision of it changes.

Brick & Stucco Abstract

Brick & Stucco Abstract

This was shot on Ecktachrome G100E slide film. It was scanned and imported to Photoshop. Exposure was decreased and saturation was increased.

I saw this while I was driving down the street, I stopped and took the picture and made a note to come back and and work on the whole wall. Two weeks later I returned only to find the building had been demolished. Take your pictures when you see then because they may not be there tomorrow.

Nude on a Parachutte

Nude on a Parachutte

This was shot digitally and processed in Lightroom. The image was rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom preset. Contrast and exposure were altered as well as some retouching.

This picture was taken with only available light, no strobes or reflectors. A parachute was placed over a boulder and the model took her position on the parachute. The seams in the parachute converge leading the eye to the model.

I was getting ready to go for a hike at Fisher Towers along Route 128 in Utah, and stumbled on to a group of climbers. Serendipity  helps.

Nude Stand Next to a Tree

Nude Stand Next to a Tree

This is a digital photo processed in Lightroom. It was rendered to Black & White by using a Lightroom preset, then exposure and contrast were adjusted and the image was cropped.

This was outdoors with all natural light. The model was positioned so the light would fall on her front . The models skin is much lighter than the background, so exposing for the model allowed the background to fade into darkness.

May 23, 2013….Day 38

Level with the Clouds

Level with the Clouds

This was shot using Ecktachrome E100 slide film. The slide was scanned and processed in Lightroom.  It was rendered to Black & White by desaturating the image, also enhancing the sky and clouds.

This picture was taken st 14,000 feet on Mt. Evans where you are literally at eye level with the clouds.

Nude Pointing to the Celing

Nude Pointing to the Celing

This was taken as a  digital photo and processed in Lightroom. This image was converted to Black & White via a Lightroom preset and them contrast and brightness were adjusted.

One light was used in this setup, it was between the model and the camera off to the camera’s left. I used barn doors to narrow the light’s beam. This highlighted the model’s face in profile and allow the rest of her body to fade into darkness.

May 22, 2013….Day 37

Tan & White

Tan & White

This picture was shot on Ecktachrome G100E slide film. This image was scanned in and processed in Lightroom, where only the contrast was altered.

This picture was taken at the front door of the Georgia O’Keeffe museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The museum is wonderful and it also provides all sorts of picture opportunities.
