Torso

Torso

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. Both exposure and contrast were altered and the photograph was rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom preset. This image was not cropped however a considerable amount of touch up was done.

This was a single light setup. The light was placed directly to the model’s right giving a heavy shadow on the model’s left side. It also accentuated the model’s curves and her solidity.

Nude and a Box

Nude and a Box

This is a digital Photo processed in Lightroom. This is how this image was captured (no crop). The only manipulation of this image was to render it to Black & White via a Lightroom preset.

This was a two light setup. One light to the left of the camera facing the back wall and the other light was to the right of the camera in front of the model.

Nude

Nude

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. Shot as is, the only alteration was the image being rendered in Black & White using a Lightroom preset .

Two lights were used one to the left of the camera and in front of the model and the second one was placed to the right of the camera and behind the model. This lighting shows very distinct curves and contours. Even though the light was a little on the harsh side the lighting gave a feeling of softness.

Short Blond Hair

Short Blond Hair

This was taken as a digital picture and then processed in Lightroom. Contract , clarity and exposure were adjusted and a slight crop was made as well as some touchup. This is a simple portrait, what most portrait clients are looking for.

One light with  a good sized light-box (look closely at the model’s eyes and you can see the reflection of the light-box) was used, it was placed off to the left of the camera. This Light-box setup gave a nice diffused light and helps to soften the model.

Abstract Nude

Abstract Nude

This was taken digitally and processed in Photoshop, where there are tools to do this. Exposure and contrast were adjusted and the image was cropped slightly. In Photoshop the image was posterized and the find edges filter tool was used. This produced a metallic bronze appearance.

This was a one light setup with the light off to the left side of the photograph and between the camera and model. This gave me enough range of tone so the posterization would be effective.

xCM 05-01-13-4180

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. Contrast and exposure were adjusted as well as some touch up being done.

Two lights were used, the main light on the camera’s right was used with a grid to narrow the beam of the light and to increase contrast. It was aimed directly at the model. The second light was to the camera’s left and it was aimed at the background.

Rushing in

Rushing in

This image was taken digitally and processed in Photoshop. Contrast and exposure adjusted, the picture was cropped severely and the orientation was changed. Grain was added with a Photoshop filter and grain size was adjusted as was the intensity of the grain.

Two Lights were used in this setup both were between the camera and the model. One light was above the models head and the other from below (remember the orientation of the image was changed, a hint look how the models hair flows} .

Nude Dancing with Her Shadow

Nude Dancing with Her Shadow

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. Contrast and exposure were adjusted and the picture was cropped.

This is a single light setup. The single light was used to create a strong shadow. The model was placed close to the rear wall of the studio so the shadow would not diffuse much.

As with the others in this series of “Nudes Playing with Her Shadow” I tried to make the model three dimensional. By using only one light I was able to highlight the model’s musculature.

Any questions or comments?

June 21, 2013….Day 67

Girl in a Black Dress

Girl in a Black Dress

This was a digital photo processed in Lightroom. The color of the model’s Iris was enhansed and the white of her eye was brightened. The image was cropped.

This was a two light setup, the main light between the model and the camera on the right side of the picture. The second light was on the left side of the picture facing the back wall.
