October 31, 2016…Day 1166

Hiding in the Cloth

Hiding in the Cloth

In my series “How much can be abstracted before the image is no longer recognizable as a person”. I used stretchy fabric as a prop. I had the model stepping into the picture while someone was pulling the fabric in the opposite direction. The model’s face and arms are recognizable (to me) but can other people “see the model”. I also added grain with the idea of adding some modeling.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and in front and off to the side.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via Lightroom’s Black & White Sliders.

Check out my other blog. It is mostly film photography and film development and it goes into some technical information.

I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.

Seeking gallery representation.

October 26, 2016…Day 1161

Torso with Hand on Hip

Torso with Hand on Hip

This image was a full length picture of the model. While I was working on it I thought it would be a stronger image if I eliminated some of the elements from the original. The lighting and the texture I added created an interesting image.

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side of the frame. The light on the left was slightly in front of the model and the light on the right was just about even with the model.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom’s Black & White presets.

Soft Focus on a Box With Beads

Soft Focus on a Box With Beads

Creating an ephemeral image by defocusing the model until she was still recognizable as a person but not much more than light and dark areas..

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and in front and off to the side. of the model.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via Lightroom’s Black & White presets.

Overlooking Her Desert Kingdom as a Storm Rolls in

October 23, 2016…Day 1158

In a Cloud

In a Cloud

The idea of this image was to make the model appear as though she was in a cloud. I tried to match the black seamless that the model was resting on with the luminosity and texture of the smoke.

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side of the frame. The light on the left was slightly in front of the model and the light on the right was just about even with the model.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom’s Black & White sliders.

Walk Like an Egyptian
