February 28, 2019…Day 1998

Fog Rolling In

I though I’d do something different today.

This image is a black pebble beach along the Washington Coast. The low contrast  caused by the fog gives this image a very moody, atmospheric look.

The photo was captured on film and processed to a positive (vs, a negative which would be the most common practice) by DR5, a lab that specializes in that process..

Arm Up

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side of the frame about even with the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White using Lightroom’s Black & White sliders.

Looking Up

I used the pose and lighting to create an image that looks like a statue.

One light was used, it was placed to the left of the frame and slightly to the side of the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White using Lightroom’s Black & White sliders.
