Abandoned Stone Building

This image of an old stone structure was taken on the Island of Burray one of Scotland’s Orkney Island (they lay just off the northern coast). The image was taken with a wide angle lens on high speed Black & White film and developed in a standard developer.

September 21, 2018…Day 1839

Standing With Her Legs Crossed

I used a moderately slow shutter to give the image a little softness (as opposed to creating a blur indicating motion).

This is an analog image taken with a high speed Black & White film. It was developed in very dilute highly active developer.

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side of the frame about even with the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped using Lightroom.

Reclining in the Desert

This image was taken on a medium speed ( ISO 100)film that when developed in the developer designed for it gives an extremely broad dynamic range.

This image was taken a few miles of south on Moab, UT a short distance from the road.

June 15, 2018…Day 1741

Torso

The idea behind this image was to show some hardness (distinctive musculature) as well as some softness. I also carefully  balances negative space.

This image was taken on 120 film Iso 100 film using an IE of 100 and developed in coffee (Cafernol).

One light were used, and it was placed to the left of the frame. The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped using Lightroom.

April 30, 2018…Day 1697

Pinhole Nude on a Box

I wanted to create an image of a compressed nude in order to have many of the natural lines of the model crisscross. This was shot with a medium speed film and developed in a compensating developer. The image was taken with a very wide lens so the image was extremely small compared to size of the film.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and slightly to the side of the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped using Lightroom.

April 28, 2018…Day 1695

Ireland; Rural Road

One of the most intriguing things about traveling around Ireland were the quaint sights.

This image was taken from a small portion of a negative. The film was over exposed with X-rays at the airport but I was able to save portions of some images.

This image was taken on a high speed film (ISO 400 with an EI of 800). The film was developed in a staining developer. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped in Lightroom .

April 17, 2018…Day 1683

Torso From the Rear

This image was taken on Iso 100 film using an IE of 100 and developed in a moderately dilute compensating developer. I added some grain to even out the skin.

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side of the frame about even with the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped using Lightroom.

April 14, 2018…Day 1681

Stepping Into Darkness

This image was taken on medium speed (ISO 125 with an EI of 125). It was developed in a slightly dilute compensating developer.

I wanted to create the illusion of the model stepping darkness. I added some grain to create a little more texture in the high lights.

One light was used, it was placed to the left of the frame and slightly to the side of the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped using Lightroom.
