Sultry Portrait in Black & White

The goal here was to make a sultry portrait. The messy Hair, dark lips and a slight squint of the eyes helps achieve the goal.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom’s Black & White sliders.

Check out my other blog photographystop. wordpress.com. It is mostly film photography and film development and it goes into some technical information.

I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.

Messy Hair

Messy Hair

I over exposed (in Lightroom) to make a little like a high key image. Then I added a substantial amount of grain to make the image look as though a silver gelatin print was underexposed and overdeveloped (as in a wet darkroom).

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted (as explained in the previous paragraph) and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom’s Black & White sliders.

High Contrast Nude

High Contrast Nude

Just playing around with Photoshop.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and in front of the model.

This is a digital image processed in Photoshop. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via Photoshop’s Black & White sliders. Then I used a Photoshop filter to create the stark Black & White image.

Dance Me

I wanted an image that would almost flow like a liquid emphasizing motion. In this image the motion was the camera being moved during a relatively long exposure. I added grain to both emulate film and also to make the image more ephemeral.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and in front of the model and off to the side.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via Lightroom’s Black & White Sliders.

Black & White Portrait

Black & White Portrait

This image is day one of my Black & White challenge.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was rendered to a monochrome via the Lightroom preset.

Nude, Standing and Reaching

Nude, Standing and Reaching

The long lines of the model and her arched back make a striking pose.

A single light was used, it  was placed to the left of the frame and in front of the model. This was done to get strong highlights and deep shadows.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. Exposure and brightness were adjusted and some retouching was done. The image was rendered to a monochrome via a Lightroom Preset, and the image was cropped.

I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.

Portrait in Black & White

Portrait in Black & White

Two Lights were used, one was placed in front the model for general illumination and the second was placed to the left of the frame and slightly behind the model to get some separation between the model’s hair and he the background. The exposure was set to give an almost high key effect.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted very slightly and then the image was cropped slightly..

Stretching Nude

Stretching Nude

Two lights were used, one was placed on the leftt of the frame and slightly in front of the model and one on the right of the frame even with the model. This was done to illuminate the model’s side and most of the model’s back but leaving strong shadows.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. Exposure and brightness were adjusted well as a moderate amount of cropping. The image was converted to Black & White via a lightroom preset.

I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.
