February 3, 2018…Day 1614

Pinhole Nude

I find the pose a compressed form always interesting.

This image was shot on high speed film (120) with a homemade pinhole camera. The film was developed in Rodinal. The image is relatively grainy mostly because the image was from  only about 10% of the negative.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and slightly to the side of the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped using Lightroom.

Nude; Shot on 35mm Film

This image is one taken for my series of isolation and alienation.

I shot this image on high speed 35mm film developed on Rodinal.

September 26, 2017…Day 1494

Nude Shot on film

I wanted to show the organic lines of the model and a little of her musculature.

I shot this image on high speed 120 film developed on Rodinal.

One light was used, it was placed to the left of the frame and slightly to the side of the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped.

June 6, 2017…Day 1383

Nude

Look at the strength in the model’s back. Musculature is always interesting especially when using highly directionally light.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and slightly in front of the model. The lights were set up to maximize the shadow.  Some grain was added to help mitigate rub marks on the background.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White using Lightroom’s Black & White sliders.

June 4, 2017…Day 1381

Nude On a Box

This is a study in a compressed form. The compressed form  is one of my favorite poses.

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side of the frame about even with the model.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White via a Lightroom sliders.

April 23, 2017…Day 1339

Abstract Nude

I wanted to emulate a pin hole photograph. I used a diffusion technique to create a very soft focus then I introduced a lot of grain to make the image look as though it was taken on film.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and slightly in front of the model.

The contrast and exposure was adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to Black & White using Lightroom’s Black & White presets.

November 22, 2014…Day 485

Reclining Nude

Reclining Nude

This was shot with a pinhole camera that I built. This image is not very sharp however the three dimensionality  and tonality of the image are surprising. The images that pinhole cameras make have an ephemeral quality that can’t be made anyother way (that I Know of),

One light was used, one was placed to the right of the frame and to the side of the model.

This image was shot on Kodak Tri -X Professional 120 film and developed in a staining developer. The negative was scanned into Lightroom where it was cropped and the contrast and exposure were adjusted.

I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.

April 4, 2014….Day 348

Nude Dancing

Nude Dancing

The appearance of movement is an illusion the model was holding her poses because of very long exposures.

This was shot with a pinhole camera that I built. The negative was extremely underexposed (about 3 stops) but after scanning into Lightroom the negatives were easy to manipulate (these negatives would have been almost impossible to print in a wet dark room). This image is not very sharp because the exposures were so long (about 10 seconds, one Mississippi, two Mississippi etc.) which is quite a long time for a model to hold a pose. The graininess is due mainly from push processing and also from the under development.

One light was used, one was placed to the left of the frame and in front of the model.

March 21, 2014….Day 335

Pin Hole Camera Nude

Pin Hole Camera Nude

This was shot with a pinhole camera that I built. Three days ago I posted another nude shot with my pin hole camera, the negative was extremely underexposed (about 3 stops). This image was shot with a higher speed film that was more appropriate for the lighting conditions. This image is not very sharp the exposures were about 10 seconds (one Mississippi, two Mississippi etc.) which is quite a long time for a model to hold a pose.

One light was used, one was placed to the right of the frame and in front of the model.

In the post from the 17th (another pin hole image) there was an error, this was shot on film not digitally (sometimes cut and past will get you).

I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.
